The Rape of Lucretia - Week Two

Behind-the-Scenes Rehearsal Photos by Katharine Elliott.

Tenor William Burden returns to the Opera Company as narrator,
in the role of the Male Chorus for Britten's masterpiece.

From left to right: the Male Chorus (tenor William Burden), Junius (baritone Eric Dubin),
and Tarquinius (baritone Nathan Gunn). Junius discovers that his wife has been unfaithful
as have many other wives -- except for Lucretia, who has been faithful and loyal to Collatinus.

Eric Dubin is Junius (left) with Ben Wager as Collatinus, husband to Lucretia.

Baritone Eric Dubin made his OCP debut in David DiChiera’s
Cyrano, and returns as Junius in this production of The Rape of Lucretia.

Tarquinius (baritone Nathan Gunn) and the Male Chorus (tenor William Burden) sing about the lovely
and faithful Lucretia, but Tarquinius plots to test her fidelity.

Mezzo-soprano Allison Saunders returns to sing the role of Bianca.

Soprano Rinnat Moriah makes her OCP debut as Lucia,
one of Lucretia’s servants.

Lucia (soprano Rinnat Moriah) and Lucretia
(mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford) tend to their
sewing and spinning.

Lucretia (mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford),
distraught after the attack of Tarquinius, finds that
she is loathing the orchids, the flowers that she once
adored the most.

Lucretia (mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford) appears following
Tarquinius's attack, as Junius (baritone Eric Dubin) and Collatinus
(bass Ben Wager) realize what has happened.
