Italian Girl in Algiers - Week Two

Director Stefano Vizioli
returns to the Opera Company of Philadelphia to lead The Italian Girl in Algiers once more.  Here he works with the men of the OCP chorus.

The men of the Opera Company of Philadelphia chorus run through their blocking in this very physically-demanding production.

From left to right, supernumeraries Bracey Berard, Chantelle Fitzgerald, and Maria Mavromatis take a moment to smile for the camera and then jump right back into rehearsal where they act as part of Mustafà’s harem.

From left to right, supernumeraries Max Vasapoli and Richard Bartnik strike a pose.
Super Max Vasapoli, Mustafà’s tailor, presents his creations to the bey and his harem of women.

Assistant Director Seth Hoff (center) stands in for the role of Taddeo as supernumeraries Max Vasapoli and Richard Bartnik dress him in clothes befitting his new royal title.

Rehearsal for Italian Girl stops for nothing – not even the Phillies’ World Series win.  After rehearsal let out, however, cast members rushed out to join in the celebration on Broad Street.  Here chorus member Jim Osby, pauses for a moment before heading for home on his bike, to take in the celebration.
