 From left to right, Orphée, mezzo-soprano Ruxandra Donose,
is greeted by the mischievous god Amour, sung by soprano Elizabeth Reiter in her Opera Company of Philadelphia debut. Amor informs Orphée that the gods have taken pity on him and he will be allowed to enter the Underworld to charm its spirits with his music and bring Eurydice back to life. |
Mezzo-soprano Ruxandra Donose is carried by dancers from Miro Dance Theatre, who act as the spirits of the Underworld and carry Orphée to find Eurydice. |

 The members of Miro Dance Theater, Benjamin Asriel, Dana Dlugosz, Joy Havens, Don Scott Lowe, Buffy Miller, and Paul Struck, portray numerous characters in Orphée et Eurydiceincluding corpses, demons, shadows, and spirits.  |
