Aerialist Kendra Greaves maneuvers high above the Perelman stage. She hangs from a fly system which supports her as she takes over in the role of Orphée to create his dream-like descent into the Underworld.
After carefully perfecting all of the details, aerialist Kendra Greaves is joined by the Opera Company of Philadelphia chorus. Graves stands in for mezzo-soprano Ruxandra Donose when the Orphée character begins his journey to rescue Eurydice.
From left to right, aerialist Kendra Greaves sits with mezzo-soprano Ruxandra Donose between scenes. Kendra is the body double for Ruxandra in order to produce the dangerous aerial effects needed for director Robert Driver and designer Philippe Amand’s Orphéeet Eurydice.
Orphée, mezzo-soprano Ruxandra Donose (center), pleads with the furies and demons to let him pass. He eventually persuades them with his music and he is granted a safe passage to the Elysian Fields where the beautiful Eurydice awaits.
