Annie Burridge was named Opera Philadelphia’s Managing Director in February 2015, joining the artistic planning team and assuming responsibility for the implementation of the company’s business plan.
With the company since 2007, Ms. Burridge most recently served as the Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement, overseeing the development, marketing, and communications departments. She led the company’s rebranding campaign, and has conducted groundbreaking consumer research exploring the matrix of factors influencing today’s entertainment purchasing decisions. During her tenure as the company’s chief development officer, contributed income has increased 76%.
Annie also serves as adjunct faculty in the Arts Administration graduate program at Drexel University. Before switching her focus to administration, Annie performed with numerous opera companies and orchestras, and was a young artist with Des Moines Metro Opera. Annie holds a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Administration from the University of Pennsylvania; a M.M. in Voice Performance and a M.M. in Opera Studies from the New England Conservatory; and graduated the valedictorian of the College of Arts and Architecture at Penn State University, where she earned a B.M. in Voice Performance with a Minor in Business Administration.
