World-Renowned Artist Jun Kaneko, FIDELIO Designer, Featured in NY Public Art 09-24-2008 The Opera Company’s 2008-2009 Season kicks off with a stunning, newly-designed Fidelio conceived by director Robert Driver and celebrated artist Jun Kaneko. But before the Academy of Music curtain rises on October 10th, the works of this internationally-recognized artist can be seen on the streets of New York City. Kaneko’s sculptures are currently on display through November as part of the New York City Parks Public Art Program. Three of the artist’s largest sculptures, each entitled HEAD (2004 to 2007), have been installed in the landscaped medians of Park Avenue at 52nd, 53rd, and 54th Streets. Previously exhibited artists include Keith Haring, Fernando Botero, Bernar Venet, Donna Dennis, and Robert Indiana.
