Adult Education in the Community

Opera is all around our community, schools, and neighborhoods. Here are some local opera resources in the Philadelphia area:

Penn State Abington presents informative opera programs mirroring the Opera Company of Philadelphia season. Moderated by Penn State Professor Emeritus of Integrative Arts Dr. Moylan Mills, the talks provide a thorough background on OCP's operas with highlights from excellent performances on DVD.

All programs are presented in the Woodland Auditorium at the Penn State/Abington Campus and include discussion, video excerpts, and refreshments. For more information or to reserve a seat, please call Pam Smith at 215-881-7634 or visit www.abington.psu.edu.

Settlement Music School offers music lessons to children and adults alike. If you've ever wanted to learn how to sing, play an instrument, contact Settlement Music School.  With branches throughout the greater Philadelphia area, there's a Settlement Music School near you! For more information, call the main branch at 215-320-2600, or visit Settlement's web site at www.smsmusic.org.
