Sounds of Learning™ literacy program is designed for students in grades 5-12. The program's objective is to encourage arts-integrated literacy development by using the opera libretto from the season's repertoire. Lessons are designed across the curriculum to improve student's literacy skills.

Teachers come to OCP's offices for a professional staff development session 4-6 weeks before bringing their students to the final dress rehearsal of an opera at the Academy of Music.

The education program provides lesson plans and 80-page student activity books at no cost for each opera. Transportation is provided for 5th-8th grade Philadelphia public school students.
