Some Samples of What The Press is Saying About Norma:
"Those in attendance will not soon to forget the long entrance of Bellini’s premiere soul of casta diva, here magnificently portrayed by the transcendent soprano Christine Goerke.... it is Goerke's vocal performance that is a marvel, so totally invested emotionally and technically in portraying Norma." - Lewis Whittington, Edge Philadelphia
"Conductor Corrado Rovaris was ready for galvanization with a lean, vital approach to the score, rock-solid playing from the orchestra, and pulse-racing tempos that felt completely right..." - David Patrick Stearns, The Philadelphia Inquirer
"It’s been quite a while since any soprano so successfully nailed Norma, one of the most difficult of all operatic roles. Such is the impact of Christine Goerke in the current production of Norma by the Opera Company of Philadelphia.... She projects her voice and personality with unusual thrust. At the same time, Goerke negotiates the rapid coloratura passages with flair.... Goerke compares favorably with the all-time greats." - Steve Cohen, Broad Street Review
"... while they all play creatures betrayed by the pleasures of the flesh, vocally all three leads seem to supersede any physical limitations to scale the demanding heights of both the music and the Bel Canto style the singing requires." - Jim Rutter, Broad Street Review
