FIDELIO: Heroic by nature. Daring by design.

Beethoven's only opera FIDELIO returns to the Opera Company of Philadelphia this fall after nearly 20 years!  The heartpounding, suspenseful story of a wife who risks everything to free her imprisoned husband, FIDELIO is being built as a new production right here in Philadelphia, conceived by Director Robert B. Driver and famed contemporary artist Jun Kaneko.  With a striking black and white, grid-based set and vivid color projections used throughout, FIDELIO promises to marry the best of visual arts and classical music in five performances.  Stars Christine Goerke, Anthony Dean Griffey and Greer Grimsley make a trio of internationally-renowned leading voices, with Maestro Corrado Rovaris leading the Opera Company Chorus and Orchestra through Beethoven's powerful score.

October 10, 12m, 15, 19m & 24, 2008 - don't miss this original production!
