Nathan Gunn & Other Special Guests
Special Guest Nathan Gunn , Director of Opera Philadelphia’s American Repertoire Council
Affirming its place as an emerging leader in the development of new operatic works, Opera Philadelphia announced in September that Nathan Gunn, internationally-renowned baritone, had been appointed as the director of its newly-formed American Repertoire Council. In this capacity, Gunn will work closely with General Director David Devan, Music Director Corrado Rovaris, and Artistic Advisor Mikael Eliasen on artistic planning for future seasons, and will lead meetings of the American Repertoire Council, a committed group of national advisors. He will also serve as artistic counsel to our two Composers In Residence, Lembit Beecher and Missy Mazzoli.
Nathan Gunn has made a reputation as one of the most exciting and in-demand baritones of the day and has appeared in the world’s most renowned opera houses. A noted supporter of new works, Mr. Gunn has created numerous new roles in recent years. He comes to Philadelphia in 2016 in the role of Inman in Cold Mountain.
