Truly great operatic productions and meaningful education and outreach programs are costly. In fact, even if every seat in the house is sold, ticket sales cover less than half of our annual production and operating costs. The lights go down… the Maestro takes the podium… and with the first exhilarating strains of the orchestra begins a ride unlike any other, replete with theatrical spectacle, thrilling dance, hearty laughter, stories that touch the heart, and the boundless purity of the operatic voice. Through their participation as Annual Fund contributors, Friends of OCP play a role in this experience, too - as partners in our three-fold mission to present compelling performances, nurture young talent, and develop educational programs that share the rich heritage of opera with both new and established opera lovers.

OCP’s goal is to consistently deliver outstanding productions of traditional repertoire and to commission and produce new and exciting operatic works that appeal to a socially and culturally diverse audience. Aiming High
OCP identifies and cultivates rising young talent from the country’s best schools, including The Curtis Institute of Music and Academy of Vocal Arts, and casts these future stars with internationally-acclaimed singers.
