Opera in a Trunk (grades Pre-4 through 4)
This engaging lesson introduces students to opera and excites them about its many possibilities. By the end of class, students will take part in an operatic production of their own equip with costumes, props, sets, and song! This lesson is a wonderful opportunity for creative thinking and team building.
Express Yourself! (grades Pre-K through 5)
Opera is one of the most bold and expressive genres of music. Students will learn how expression can help to bring any story to life. With singing, acting, movement, and more your classroom will transform into a stage for learning. This empowering lesson is a great way to help students burst out of their shell!
Opera 101 (grades 5 through 12)
Dive into the artistically and technically rich tradition of opera through exploration of character development, story arc, design, and more! This advanced lesson draws connections to different theatrical genres. Access to video projection is important to this lesson.
Sing Out/Speak Up (grades 5–12)
The most powerful instrument in opera is the voice! Get your students using their voices to the best of their ability with the help of an opera singer. Learning about breath, resonance, timbre and more will not only help the way your students sing, but also speak!
