Opera Philadelphia

The Emerging Artists Program

Opera Philadelphia’s Emerging Artists Program returns for a fourth season

The Opera Philadelphia stage has a history as a welcoming environment where rising vocal talents are nurtured. Eric Owens, Ailyn Pérez, and Nathan Gunn are just some of the young singers who went on to great operatic careers following early exposure to the professional stage in Philadelphia. Last year, four rising stars took the Opera Philadelphia stage in supporting roles across the season and covered roles in the breakout World Premiere work Breaking the Waves.

Opera Philadelphia’s Emerging Artists Program returns in 2017-2018 with a crop of six burgeoning talents—including three returning artists and three new to the program—who will engage with Opera Philadelphia onstage, appearing in at least one production, while also singing in community recitals and special events throughout the 2017-2018 Season.
