The Emerging Artists Program

Opera Philadelphia’s Emerging Artists Program returns for a fifth season

The Opera Philadelphia stage has a history as a welcoming environment where rising vocal talents are nurtured. Eric Owens, Stephanie Blythe, and Denyce Graves are just some of the young singers who went on to great operatic careers following early exposure to the professional stage in Philadelphia.

Opera Philadelphia’s Emerging Artists Program continues in 2018-2019 with two returning artists —who will engage with Opera Philadelphia onstage, appearing in leading roles in at least one production, while also singing in community recitals and special events throughout the 2018-2019 Season.

German American mezzo-soprano Siena Licht Miller is currently studying in the opera program at the Curtis Institute of Music, and was previously a member of the Santa Fe Opera's Apprentice program as well as Opera Theater of St. Louis' Young Artist Training Program. She will sing the role of Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream and perform on the Fridays at Field recital series during the O18 Festival.

Soprano Ashley Robillard, from Norton, Massachusetts, is currently studying in the voice program at Curtis Institute of Music. She will sing the role of Musetta in La bohème and perform on the Fridays at Field recital series during the O18 Festival.

For information on underwriting one of these talented young singers, please contact Rachel McCausland, Vice President of Development, at mccausland@operaphila.org or 215.893.5909.
