Join us for Discover Opera, an in-depth lecture series that explores broad aspects of the art form. Opera Philadelphia’s Vice President of Community Programs, Michael Bolton, will discuss the evolution of opera from Monteverdi to today. He’ll walk us through a historical timeline and discuss the hallmarks of early opera, the castrati, French Baroque opera, the bel canto tradition, the emergence of British and American opera, and more! Light refreshments will be served.
