Free 1-Week Vocal and Technical Theater Summer Camp 

June 15-20, 2026

9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

Calling all middle and high school students! This summer, Opera Philadelphia's brand-new Nexus Program teams up with Philadelphia Ballet's Let's Dance for a FREE, one-week immersive camp inspired by the iconic musicals Wicked and The Wiz. Whether you love to sing, dance, perform, or you're curious about what happens behind the scenes, this camp offers hands-on experience, creative collaboration, and a chance to shine onstage.

Priority will be given to School District of Philadelphia students. 

Students can choose between two exciting tracks:

Vocal Track (Middle & High School)
Participants will build confidence and artistry through:

• Daily voice and choral singing
• Theater classes
• Dance classes designed for singers

Technical Theater Track (High School Only)
Get behind the scenes and learn real-world production skills, including:

• Carpentry
• Lighting & sound
• Stage management
• Makeup
• Props & scenic design
  (Transportation is provided to and from Philadelphia Ballet ( 323 N. Broad St.) building to Opera Shop for technical theater students.)

All students will work toward a final performance in Philadelphia Ballet’s brand-new Dance Innovation Lab, a professional performance space where creativity takes center stage.

• High school participants receive a $500 stipend
• No cost to participate
• Lunch provided
