Enter the mysterious world of the Carmelite nuns in this brown bag discussion. We’ll learn about the order of Carmelites and their rituals as a precursor to a discussion about the French Revolution and the historic Martyrs of Compiègne, a Carmelite order who lost their lives during the Reign of Terror.  Their true story is the basis of Poulenc’s opera, Dialogues of the Carmelites. Led by director Jordan Fein and Michael Bolton, Opera Philadelphia’s Vice President of Community Programs.
