Opera Philadelphia

Community Initiatives Evaluation Report

The 2024/25 Community Initiatives Evaluation Report highlights the impact and growth of Opera Philadelphia’s core education programs, including Backstage Pass, T-VOCE (ended in 2025), Dress Rehearsal, and Residency Programs. Grounded in participant feedback, partner collaboration, and measurable outcomes, this report reflects our ongoing commitment to equitable access, meaningful community partnership, and using music and creative making a tool for community building and strengthening SEL learning.

Through work with an evaluation coach at ImpactED, the evaluation of our programs is built on four evaluation questions:

  • Evaluation Question #1 Program Relevance: What are the music-related needs and interests of program participants?
  • Evaluation Question #2 Program Implementation: How can Opera Philadelphia programming best be implemented within its context?
  • Evaluation Question #3 Program Experience: How are students experiencing the programs?
  • Evaluation Question #4 Program Outcomes: To what extent do participating students experience the intended outcomes/impacts (as specified in the Theory of Change)?
    • Emotional capacity
    • Self-awareness
    • Artistic appreciation
    • Future careers and interests
    • Technical skills

We invite you to read the report and learn more about how relevancy, experience, and outcomes of our programs.
