When communities experience deep crisis we need the arts more than ever. It is therefore with a heavy heart that we have postponed this spring's performances of MADAME BUTTERFLY. This difficult decision was made in careful collaboration with our artists and staff, and in compliance with federal, state, and city directives to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are pleased to share that it is our intention to bring the production to Philadelphia in Spring 2022 with all contracted artists invited to return to their roles.

During this very challenging time, we ask that you donate the value of your ticket back to Opera Philadelphia as a tax-deductible contribution. All new and increased contributions, including ticket donations, will be matched. A donation will help Opera Philadelphia provide financial support for artists and staff this season and next, and offset an anticipated $3 million loss in revenue.
