Patron Trip to Toronto
MAY 18–21, 2018
Opera Philadelphia heads to Toronto, the cultural capital of Ontario and hometown of Opera Philadelphia's General Director and President David B. Devan. The May 2018 visit provides the opportunity to attend two stellar Canadian Opera Company productions at the Four Seasons Centre. The weekend starts with Stravinsky’s Nightingale and Other Short Fables, led by Johannes Debus, in a revival of the remarkable Robert Lepage production with an exceptional roster that includes Jane Archibald in the title role, Owen McCausland, Christian Van Horn, and Meredith Arwady. We conclude with Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, led by Opera Philadelphia’s Jack Mulroney Music Director Corrado Rovaris, who will conduct the sensational Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role. The cast also includes Eric Owens, Keri Alkema, Bruce Sledge, and Allyson McHardy. A private reception with Maestro Rovaris will follow this performance. Dinners at several of Toronto’s finest restaurants, a guided tour of the historic Distillery District, and a private visit to the Art Gallery of Ontario round out this exceptional weekend.
Opera Philadelphia’s Patron Trip to Toronto has been organized by Act 1 Tours, a New York based travel company and leader in opera travel. The cost of the trip for members of Opera Philadelphia will be $2,900 per person (double occupancy), or $3,650 per person (single occupancy). Attendees are encouraged to register by January 26, 2018.
