Members of Philadelphia’s Asian-American community have recently engaged Opera Philadelphia in a meaningful dialogue about racial stereotyping in staging traditional opera. This has not only changed our personal perspectives, but it has also informed our production of Turandot and will continue to inform future artistic practice. As we continue to learn from these discussions, we would also like to open up this dialogue to the community at large.
