Join us for Between the Notes as we explore Gaetano Donizetti’s charming bel canto comedy The Elixir of Love, in which the dull-witted and love struck Nemorino places all of his hope in a love potion to win the affections of Adina. In this edition of Between the Notes, we’ll be joined by a scholar from the University of Pennsylvania’s Musicology Department who will share insights about Donizetti, bel canto style, and this infectious score, which contains the haunting aria “Una furtiva lagrima."
